Montane (company)
Montane is an English company specializing in outdoor apparel.〔http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/montane〕 The company was formed in 1993. Soon after they created a lightweight wind shirt, the Featherlite Smock, and have continued to produce jackets primarily designed for mountaineering, climbing pursuits and hill activities.
A number of fabric technologies are used in their clothing, such as eVent, NeoShell and Pertex. These fabrics are used to achieve a balance between weight, water resistance and breathability, all important requirements for extreme outdoor pursuits. The company also manufacture accessories such as sleeping bags, backpacks, gloves, mittens and hats.
